For me, travelling by bicycle is the perfect way to explore the world. I tend to cycle where I want to, how I want to and when I want to. It is the definition of freedom in many ways. Yes, it is a lot of hard work too, but the rewards are unlike anything else.

In the spring of 2015 I left my home in Sweden and sat out on a solo bicycle journey with the goal of reaching New Zealand. I cycled though central Europe down to Greece, crossed Turkey and Iran and further on to the Stans - Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan and Tajikistan.

After 7 months on the road, while cycling the high mountains in Tajikistan, my journey took an abrupt turn. At 4200m asl I fell with my bicycle, injured my foot and I had to fly back to Sweden. But the game was not over.

In March 2016 I re-started the journey with a different itinerary, via Finland, Russia, Kazakhstan, Mongolia, China, Laos, Kambodja, Thailand, Malaysia and down to Singapore. After 25 countries, 650 days and soon 30.000km in the saddle I am now in Western Australia and if everything goes as planned I will and reach my goal in New Zealand by the end of August 2017.
